If it's not plugged in, when it tries to "reboot" into or out of Disk Mode, I get a "Connect to power" warning. Its battery is more or less toast, so I have to keep it plugged in to a power source to use it. Neither Disk Utility nor System Information acknowledge that a device is connected.)Īlso, now that I've put the iPod into Disk Mode, it won't exit that mode. (For completeness' sake, I also tried it on an ancient 2009 MacBook running Mavericks that has native USB-A ports-one which this iPod has previously been used with. The iPod recognizes that it's been plugged into a power source-the screen lights up-but the Mac never indicates that it knows a device has been connected, in Disk Utility or System Information. ![]() ![]() I've tried it both through a hub and with a straight USB-A to USB-C adapter, and the results are the same. It doesn't help that there appears to be no such thing as a 30-pin to USB-C cable, and my 2019 16" MBP has only USB-C ports. With or without Disk Mode, my Mac does not acknowledge that a device has been connected.
